Many of us have crazy ideas about what dieting is and what it isn't. There are so many ideas about what works, what doesn’t and then the just plain fast notions that are flying around our social media feeds. We need to clear up any false notions so we can help get on track to a happier, healthier lifestyle!

CARBS MAKE YOU FAT WRONG! Eating carbs does not automatically make you gain weight! There are two types of carbohydrates, the good and the bad - ‘good’ carbs come from fruit, vegetables and whole grains and the ‘bad’ ones come from processed foods like white bread and pastries. Bad carbs a full of refined sugars that make you gain weight. However ‘good’ carbs are necessary to fuel your body for the day and to help you keep on track with a balanced diet.

HEALTHY FOOD MUST BE TASTELESS Not enjoying the food you’re eating is going to get pretty boring very quickly. In fact, it will probably set you up for failure. There are so many websites out there now that show you how to make eating healthy foods taste good! Check out our recipe section on our website HERE that is dedicated to tasty healthy foods I CAN EAT MORE AS I WORKED OUT Just because you work out does not mean that you can eat whatever you want. Sorry!:( Of course you will need more energy to push yourself harder, but you need a healthy combination of working out and portion control to achieve the health and fitness goals you want to achieve – whatever they may be.

EAT AS MUCH ‘HEALTHY FOOD’ AS YOU WANT WRONG Again I’m afraid! Just because something is healthy doesn't mean you should eat tonnes of it. Portion control still applies to any food, whether it be junk food or fruit. Too much of anything is not good for you and eating lots and lots of ‘healthy’ foods can be just as damaging to your health as any other food. Don't fall into the trap that healthy food gives you free reign to eat as much as you want. Pay attention to portions. Always!
