Legumes aren't often the choice of those on a 'Paleo' or 'Primal' diet but Golden Pea Protein Isolate is still perfectly suited to these diets!

Why usually avoid legumes on Paleo diet? Why usually avoid legumes on Paleo diet?

The primary reason for this is because of the high levels of phytate in legumes. Phytic acid can bind to minerals (zinc, iron, magnesium and calcium), rendering them inabsorbable.

Why is NUA Naturals Pea Protein ok to use?

Our Pea protein is processed using an enzymatic isolation process that is very gentle on the protein (it is a low heat process) but which also removes almost all of the phytates, lectins and trypsin inhibitors, leaving a very high protein (over 80%), low carbohyrate, low fat, that will not predispose someone to nutrient malabsorption.

Because it is gluten and lactose free and the anti-nutrient content, our pea protein has become a favourite for vegans and those with allergies, and also those following a primal or paleo style diet.

Our pea protein comes in two sizes, 250g and 1 kg
